A THINKsummit* is an intimate, in-person event. A space where leaders from multiple non-competing organizations can come together to explore fresh thinking on how to make positive change on something that they collectively see as strategically important. They are kind of like a mini-Think-Tank, except they tend to be more actionable because the participants are senior leaders from a range of organizations actively engaged in solving the challenge at hand.

Our most recent summit series was focused on ‘ACCESS TO CARE’
WHY?… because, even though ’’ACCESS to CARE’ has become an urgent priority for both healthcare & political leaders in Canada, the divide between treatment demand & system capacity continues to widen. The goal of this series was to provide leaders from across the healthcare continuum with a unique forum for exploring fresh actionable ideas on how to narrow the divide between treatment demand and care capacity.

A quick recap of the recent Access to Care Summit Series

BACKGROUND
THINKsummits* are not your typical industry event. For one thing, people attend as individuals rather than as representatives of their organization. This leaves them free to share their unique perspectives & deep experience, driven NOT by an agenda, but by a genuine desire to surface fresh thinking and make an impact. In a sense, they are like a mini-Think-Tank, except they tend to more actionable because the participants are senior leaders from a range of organizations actively engaged in solving the challenge at hand.

SIMPLE, PROVEN APPROACH
Irrespective of the summit topic, the goal of each THINKsummit is to unlock fresh insights and actionable ideas. It’s about unconstrained thinking, and we help to support that mindset through a combination of formal briefings (to reframe the challenge) and facilitated discussion (in groups that include a wide range of perspectives). The approach is simple, but effective:
. Create a safe/trusted environment for unconstrained discussion
. Reframe the problem and explore fresh, actionable ideas (formal briefings draw on learnings from other sectors)
. Facilitated discussion (a mix of leaders from across multiple organizations helps to widen range of perspectives)
… surface fresh, actionable insights & ideas that can make an impact (a focus on actionable insights & ideas)

NOT YOUR TYPICAL INDUSTRY EVENT
THINKsummits’ are NOT your usual industry event:
… they are NOT sponsored by or attended by incumbent organizations with a need to protect their interests… instead, people attend as individuals, free to share their unique perspectives & deep experience, driven NOT by an agenda, but by a genuine desire to surface fresh thinking and make an impact.
… they are NOT a walled garden… instead, the insights and ideas that emerge are meant to be shared widely across the ecosystem*, because the whole point is to help move the needle.

*each summit culminates in a set of artefacts that capture the key insights & actionable ideas that emerge from the discussions. Participants are granted a royalty-free license to use both the summit briefs and artefacts however they see fit (and in some cases all outputs are shared even more widely under Creative Commons license)

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
We consider a THINKsummit to be a success when the individuals who participate feel they gained a fresh perspective on the challenge (ie: the summit topic) and that they come away from the day with at least one fresh/actionable idea for how to move the needle (of course, the personal experiences and relationships that come from a participating in a THINKsummit are also valuable, but the overriding goal is to surface fresh thinking that leads to positive change)

WHY PARTICIPATE?
… because, as a participant, you can expect a level of expansive thinking that rarely emerges at a typical industry event. These are intimate settings with no phones and no pressure to know the answer… just a small group of smart, passionate people exploring what’s possible with an open mind and a shared sense of purpose, and that brings numerous benefits:
. less polarizing… the optics of sharing & dialogue remove any pressure to agree or disagree
. stress-tests previously unconscious assumptions & bias (risk-free way to evolve thinking)
. relationship building… shared experiences

PRESENTING PARTNERS
We (Rampworth) have produced a wide range THINKevents, focused on many different topics. In most cases, we work in partnership with one or more organizations that underwrite the cost because they have a strategic interest in surfacing fresh thinking related to the topic at hand.
The Access to Care Summit Series was presented by Petal. We are genuinely proud to have partnered with them on this series, because their level of engagement is a testament to their deep commitment to helping solve this issue for all Canadians.
